The Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art collection was conceived by Karl Lagerfeld as a tribute to cowboys and the Old West. Presented in Dallas, Texas, the collection blended elements of American Western style with Chanel's signature chic. The Chanel Boy was first presented in 2011 by then-Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld as part of the house's Fall/Winter collection. It is named after Coco Chanel's first love, Arthur Edward "Boy" Capel, an English aristocrat and passionate polo player. Inspired by a cartridge case originally designed for hunters, the Boy Bag appeals to a younger generation of fashionistas with an androgynous style that celebrates Coco Chanel's groundbreaking masculine-feminine aesthetic.
